The Coast

O.K. this is it. The last picture post from our trip. Shortly before we left for home, Bob and Mom and all of Mom's offspring were able to work out a somewhat impromtu two day trip to the coast. It went by real quick, but sure was a lot of fun. Heres a few pics...

It was little D's first time to the beach
We had gorgous weather the first day
And spent almost all day on the beach
Cousins

Finally warming up to the texture of sand!

Evening bonfire
And hot dog roast
Still working on the "castles"
Singing
The next morning we went to the Marine Science Center

And then visited some tidal pools

Thanks for coming along on the picture journey of some of our summer adventures. My kids had such a special time this summer with Grandma, Grandpa Bob, Aunties, Uncles and Cousins. And me? ...My heart is full of great memories and snapshots that I plan to store carefully away.

the hatfield place is great, my neices and nephews LOVED it and could have happily spent days and days there. I did NOT like the cobblestone beach however, as i was wearing flip flops and couldn't manage to stand up for more than about 30 seconds at a time...and it was absolutely dense with enormous flies. but I do love the Oregon coast as a whole. =)

yup! flip-flops and flies were my two problems with that beach too! but we did see the tinest cutest little hermit crab you have ever seen there in the tidal pools. my sister found it. it had vivid turqouise stripes on its legs

That beach is not great to walk on for sure, but when the tide is high, it makes the most awesome sound!! (I would have recognized that bit of beach anywhere...it's one of my favorite winter places, below the lighthouse in Newport, right?) The thunderous bass of the high tide on those rocks...it's amazing....
